IM FAMOUS....

Well, sort of, kind, in a not-really-famous kind of way, but yeah IM FAMOUS. We had dinner with a friend of mine the other night who is finishing up an internship at the economic publication Dollars and Sense. As part of her internship she got to write an article looking at the job market for recent graduates. For her article she decided to talk about what she and her friends (including yours truly) are doing. Aparently I am in the minority and most of my friends are what you call "underemployed" or working at jobs below their education/experience level. Something even more frightening I learned from her article is that people who graduate from college during an economic recession will continue to be negatively affected by the recession even after it has ended. Apparently people who enter the job market during a recession earn 8% less than those who entered the job market during economic prosperity, even after 20 years. This fact is extremely frustrating and I hope it proves to be untrue. But if it doesn't all I have to say is FUCK YOU REPUBLICANS. I am blaming this on you, and for all of you out there who believe this is President Obama's fault why don't you get a clue and realize that the economic collapse happened during Bush's term in office and was the result of eight years of bad economic policy.

Wow, well that was much more angry than I originally intended, I love you all! And if you want to read about me check out the second to last page in the Jan/Feb issue of Dollars and Sense, I am the girl with the double major in economics and environmental studies working at a consulting firm in Cambridge.

Cheers!
